It’s pretty hard to believe that in just a few short weeks, we’ll be done with summer and into the fall. Before you know it, 2012 will be coming to a close. I can’t believe we’re already in August! This year has been full of adventure and highs and lows to go right along with it. Today’s blogging challenge is to talk about those highs and lows.
The Highs:
Obviously my biggest high was welcoming this little one into my life back in February:
Hard to top that highlight
Fitness-wise, I’m thrilled to have lost my baby-weight in a reasonable amount of time and in a healthy way (if you’re curious to know how I lost the weight, head over to my fitness blog and follow my Body After Baby series)
I also managed to not only return to running back in April but in June I ran my firstĀ ever sub-30 5k, clocking in at 29:49. I was thrilled! Fitness doesn’t stop progressing when you have kids people!
The Lows
Aside from injuries, illness, lack of sleep and sometimes a lack of motivation, the only real low that’s hit me this year was the loss of my gran back in January after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. I’m glad we were able to celebrate her life and her memory from a time when her mind was whole. I am very blessed to have had such an incredible woman in my life. I only wish she would have been able to see me get married and meet my boys. I miss her terribly but have a lifetime of laughs, hugs and memories to comfort me.
I don’t know what the rest of 2012 will bring but so far, it’s been an epic year for me! How about you? What has 2012 brought to the table?

I’m sorry to hear about your gran. It’s tought to lose someone dear. Congrats though on the little one and losing the baby weight in a healthy way! xo
Congrats on the birth of baby O, you inspire me everyday. There is no way I could have kept training while going through the things that you have been. You are a rockstar!
