I find that plateaus hit us all in different ways. Most people think of plateaus as being weight-loss related but I think there are other plateaus out there as well. For instance, I have been known to hit a motivational plateau, cleaning plateau (often before I even start) and food plateau (darn chips…)
One thing about plateaus is that once I hit one, my motivation very quickly jumps ship and before I know it the proverbial wagon has run me over and is long gone.
So how do I deal with them? I shake things up! If it’s a fitness routine, I actively search for a new routine, new discipline to try, new running route or new playlist. If it’s a healthy eating plateau, I look for new recipes to try or make a goal of cooking with a food item I haven’t tried before. If it’s a cleaning plateau…uh…I’ll have to get back to you on that…
One source that’s actually been great for any and all of my plateaus has been Pinterest. Sure, it’s a bit of a time suck that is hard to get out of once you get going but through it, I’ve found new recipes, new blogs, new workouts and a butt load of crafty projects that I’ll never do but wish I could
What kind of plateaus do you experience? How do you overcome them?

Hey! Caught your blog from Fitness Cheerleader!!
I totally agree with you..shaking things up, helps me too!! oh Goodness, Pinterest sucks me in BAD!! I actually have to take days away..but I often go back through my pins and find a lot!! Lots of foods too!! Keep at it!
Yes, keeping the motivation during a plateau is my biggest issue as well. Once you aren’t seeing results it’s a complete downer. So easy to give up but so rewarding when you don’t!
